My Comment :
This is the final blow to Sen. McCain’s chances of winning the Presidency. General Powell feels the same way as do thousands (if not millions) of other former and current Republicans who will be joining forces with Democrats and Independents to help elect Barack Obama as our new President. The problem for Sen. McCain, Powell is not your regular Republican. He was instrumental in former President Reagan’s cabinet. He was Reagan’s National Security Advisor. His military credentials are second to none. He gives the Obama campaign more credibility in U.S. security issues with American voters. During his interview with NBC’s “Meet the Press”, he said that Sen. Obama had the “ability to inspire” and that Obama was a “transformational” figure. He also slammed McCain on his VP pick and his negative campaign. If Powell believes we are safe having Sen. Obama as our President then those questioning our national security under an Obama Administration should feel at ease. This endorsement kills the myth that Obama isn’t suited to handle our national security issues.
